Dentists were the first from all the medical professions, who started their private practice in Lithuania. They understood that the valid regulation of the activities of the dentists and other medical professions was inappropriate, especially trying to provide the highest quality dental services for the patients. Having analyzed the experience of the foreign countries, where dentists regulate their practice by the self-governing institutions, the initiative group of Lithuanian dentists strived to establish Lithuanian Dental Chamber - the first self-government institution of medical specialists.
 
  • October 1, 2001 – the Draft Law on Lithuanian Dental Chamber was registered in the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania.
  • December 18, 2003 – the Law on Lithuania dental Chamber passed (No. IX-1929 (2004, No 4-35).
  • June 9, 2004 – the first general meeting of the members of Lithuanian Dental Chamber took place. During the meeting the Council of the Chamber, the Court of Honor and the Revision Committee was elected. The main documents of the Chamber were endorsed – the Statute of the Chamber and the Code of the Professional Ethics.
July 1, 2004 – Lithuanian Dental Chamber registered in the register of the Legal entities’ of the Republic of Lithuania.
